Cacao is my medicine

Cacao is my medicine, its in my blood

I come from a very long line of chocoholics, and was potentially heading down diabetes road until a raw foodie friend @freshpaul and my dear sister Jemmita Inkarri introduced me to the joys of going raw many years ago.

I love cacao so much, I work with it every day.

I am humbled by the spirit of this sacred plant who’s gentle yet potent healing properties connect me to my heart. Supporting me in clear focus while giving me a gentle boost of inspiration.

Cacao is a moon time medicine that can ease stress, lift our moods and can help ease menstrual cramping.

Raw cacao is high in omega 3 and 6, high in magnesium, iron rich and the potassium in dark chocolate helps stops your muscles from retaining water and you feeling bloated a plus around moon time.

A magnesium-rich diet can ease menstrual and premenstrual pain, help relieve headaches, low blood sugar, dizziness, fluid retention and sugar cravings.

Apart from cacao, good food sources of magnesium include leafy green veggies, almonds, cashews, avocado, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and buckwheat.

Studies show that enjoying dark chocolate every day for two weeks can reduce stress hormones such as cortisol.

It also helps reduce other stress related biochemical changes as well as the “fight-or-flight” hormones known as catecholamines.

Dark chocolate has also been found to improve mood by increasing serotonin and endorphin levels in the brain, which are also known as happy hormones.

And most of all it is delishious

To make the dreamiest creamiest daily cup:

Gently heat your favourite mylk.

When warm remove from the heat and add shaved cacao paste along with sweetener of your liking.

(try coconut nectar or xylitol as it won’t spike your blood sugar)

For a moon time bru you may feel to add rose essential oil, medicinal mushrooms or for full activation a sprinkle of chilli.

Blend for a super creamy delicious cup of love

Enjoy
